around our family table

Hey Guys :]

Happy FRIDAY! ^_^ as i am still getting used to this blogging thing, and thinking of ideas to put to you, I thought I would share with you how I cook many of meals for the wonderful men in my life, I am by no means a professional cook but I love cooking for my family and friends.

Is it just my boys & man that walk in from school & work and go “What’s for tea” OR “I’m starvingggg marvin” no? I didn't think so. I swear all they must think about all day is their stomachs, whilst us women are stuck at home doing chores or grocery shopping and all the things they need doing.

So to make things a lot more stress free for myself, I get up in a morning and shove everything into this most amazing invention and leave it to cook itself all day long and then when I do hear the words “mummy my tummy has got rumblies” I can just go to this wonderful invention, scoop some out and put it into a bowl and that’s the most my little fingers have to do!

Of course I am on about the amazing..(Drum roll please)..Crock Pot

As of late I have only had a 2.5Ltr crock pot, but yesterday my caring and loving man surprised me with this little beauty to add to my collection! 6.5L of pure Stainless Steel..;)

Super excited to fill it full of yummy vegetables and sausages for it's very first Dinner:
Sausages, Vegetables & Mint Gravy

What you will need:

4 Fresh Carrots (or canned carrots)
Frozen garden peas
Mushrooms
Broccoli
Lincolnshire Sausages ( I have used 12 )
Gravy granules OR stock
mixed herbs
Pepper
Salt

Don't forget you can by all means substitute any of these vegetables for others if you do not like them

Step 1: Chop all Vegetables into chunks and chuck into the crock pot (even peas)

Step 2: Add Sausages (can brown them off first in a frying pan if you want to)

Step 3: Pour in boiling water just untill it covers the top of the ingredients

Step 4: Sprinkle over the mixed herbs & Gravy granules just to give it some colour

Step 5: Salt & Pepper to your taste

Step 6: Cook on high for 4 hours then turn down to low for another 2 hours

Step 7: When all cooked and finished thicken up gravy juices to your liking and add in a table spoon of Mint Sauce:

Serve with your favourite Mash potato recipe OR even Roast potato's and your done

This is just one of the yummy recipes I cook my little family &
it will be sure to warm up your families cockles on those cold Winter Nights

Bon Appetite
